Your tasks:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with national and international regulations, standards, and guidelines related to vehicle manufacturing, emissions, safety, and performance. Ensure the company’s vehicles comply with these requirements throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Certification and Testing: Collaborate with certification agencies and conduct internal and external testing to verify compliance with regulatory standards. Coordinate and oversee various testing activities such as crash tests, emissions testing, safety evaluations, and other necessary assessments
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed documentation related to compliance activities, including test reports, certifications, technical files, and any other required documentation. Generate compliance status reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities
  • Product Development Support: Work closely with design engineers during the product development phase to provide guidance and recommendations on compliance-related issues. Ensure compliance considerations are integrated into the design process to minimize potential rework and delays
  • Supplier Management: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards for components and subsystems. Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure their processes align with quality and compliance requirement ( Supplier Letter, Judgement Letter, DVP&R’s etc…)
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency enhancements within the compliance function. Proactively suggest improvements to design, manufacturing, and testing processes to enhance compliance and overall product quality
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various teams, including engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs, to ensure alignment on compliance goals and objectives. Participate in cross-functional meetings and provide expertise on compliance-related matters

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (e.g., mechanical, electrical, automotive) or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of automotive regulations, standards, and certifications (e.g., FMVSS, ECE; SAE, ISO)
  • Familiarity with compliance testing procedures and standards related to vehicle safety, emissions, and performance
  • Experience working in the automotive industry, preferably in a compliance-related role
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and product development processes
  • Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and compliance auditing processes is desirable
  • Regulatory knowledge specific to the region(s) of operation is a plus
  • Good German and English language skills
