Your tasks:

  • Responsible for development/design of instrument cluster for cars with consideration of costumer and internal requirements and package boundary condition
  • Structural design/fabrication of cast and stamped components, injection moulded plastic parts with regards to the influence of process parameters and electronic packaging to effectively manage heat, vibration, sealing and thermal cycle requirements
  • Act in a supporting role for detailing and supervision of component and assembly drawings and BOMs, defintion of component specifications for suplliers and first component assemply trials in production facility
  • Use of simulation tools to verify dimensions of clips and springs, to verify robustness of structures and subassemblies against vibration, torsion or thermal stress, calculation of tolerance chains of complex assemblies
  • Participates in package studies for envelope determination, in design-reviews and in FMEA-meetings
  • Perform primary customer and supplier contact for technical questions and design related topics
  • Work with product engineers, manufacturing engineers and designers worldwide in Europe and in Germany to execute tasks

Your profile:

  • Academic degree in Mechanical Engineering required
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as Mechanical Engineer in automotive industry required
  • Efficient use of a 3D CAD-Tool (Catia V5 and/or Pro-E is desired)
  • Experience and technical design knowledge with cluster instrument systems or interior components is desired
  • Having successfully worked in international mechanical projects
  • Flexible to travel to our international manufacturing locations and suppliers
  • Fluent English and German
